Michelle Murray holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Education from the Université de Moncton. After teaching for seven years, she worked as a project coordinator at the Université de Moncton and the Société Santé et Mieux-être en français du Nouveau-Brunswick.

Prior to her appointment as the coordinator for the Diabetes Action Canada Training and Mentoring Goal, she worked as a coordinator at a non-profit organization “Lire et faire Lire Acadie “. Michelle also worked as an assistant researcher at the Beaubassin Institute and occupied the same position at the Canadian Institute for Research on Linguistic Minorities and the Canadian Institute for Research on Public Policy and Public Administration, both in Moncton.

Since her appointment in January 2017, Michelle has contributed to the development of the DAC Training and Mentoring Goal Group Performance Strategy and its Mentorship, Internship and Fellowship Programs. She has also collaborated with partners at Diabetes Canada in the organization of the Diabetes Canada Trainee Days offered prior to the Diabetes Canada Professional Conference in November, 2017. Michelle is currently working on the upcoming Patient-Oriented Research (POR) Training Sessions that will be held in conjunction with the Diabetes Action Canada Annual Workshop in May 2018 and POR Training Sessions that will be offered in Toronto and in Moncton in the spring of 2018. Michelle is excited to be part of the Diabetes Action Canada Training and Mentoring Goal Group and looks forward to working more closely with patient partners, trainees and researchers in developing future training sessions that will better address their needs.
