Al Martin

Al works as a heavy haul trucker, is a husband and father of two teenagers. Like most folks, he has a busy life, but he makes time for the hobbies he enjoys, including riding motorcycles, writing, and studying physics. Al is an advocate and patient partner with Diabetes Action Canada and Obesity Canada, as he hopes to help all people whose lives are touched by disease and medical issues get tremendous support from all those who work in the industry. Al cheers the stuff that’s great already, helps what isn’t quite right, and wants to build something new where something is missing. Al’s  passion is to champion the need for ubiquitous inclusion of mental health in all healthcare. Al and his wife both live with type 2 diabetes and obesity, and  both have “loved”  experience with their own fathers, Al’s passed in January 2023, and hers is still with us going strong in his 80s!
