Tracy McQuire brings extensive expertise in research strategy, operations, and leadership to her role as Executive Director of Diabetes Action Canada. Since joining the organization in 2017—first as Manager of Research Operations and now as Executive Director—Tracy has been instrumental in building the foundation of this pan- Canadian research network, driving its growth and success from the ground up.
With over 20 years of experience in research program management, operations, and strategic planning, Tracy is a proven leader in aligning research priorities with organizational goals. Prior to her role at Diabetes Action Canada, she served as the Business Manager for the Toronto General Hospital Research Institute at the University Health Network (UHN), where she led strategic planning and implementation initiatives to integrate research priorities with clinical programs. Her tenure at UHN also included pivotal roles such as Project Coordinator, overseeing complex research safety and facilities planning projects.
Tracy holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Master of Science in Genetics from Queen’s University. She further enhanced her expertise by earning her Project Management Professional (PMP) designation in 2012, underscoring her commitment to excellence in project leadership and execution.
Tracy’s dedication, strategic vision, and operational expertise have been invaluable in advancing patient-oriented diabetes research and fostering meaningful collaborations across Canada.
