Description
Wajeeha graduated from McMaster University in Honours Life Sciences. She was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 2022 (slightly over a year ago) and has since been actively volunteering in diabetes research as a patient partner with Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute and Leadership Sinai Centre for Diabetes. Her experience as a patient partner has helped her cope and come to terms with her disease and made her hopeful for future diabetes research and innovation. Currently, she is pre-med and hopes to become an endocrinologist one day while still being actively involved in diabetes research, community and initiatives.
