2026-2027 Research to Action Fellowship Application

Thank you for your interest in applying to Diabetes Action Canada’s Research-to-Action Fellowship.

This form is your first step towards joining the DAC Research to Action Fellowship. It’s split into four easy-to-follow sections. You’ll tell us about your background, your reasons for applying, and choose the projects you’re most excited about. After you learn about our projects, you’ll rank them in order of your preference. If you join us, we’ll use these choices to pair you with a project and a teammate.

The Diabetes Action Canada team will consider your interests, availability, experience, and project fit when making final selections. You can answer in point form, full sentences, or the format that feels clearest to you.

This year’s application period is shorter because, for the first time, the Fellowship includes international travel. Selected Fellows will attend the Friends for Life conference in Orlando shortly after the application and selection period. Attendance at both conferences is a required part of the Fellowship. Applicants must be available and able to attend both events to be eligible for this year’s cohort.

Each selected Fellow will receive a $3,500 Fellowship stipend in recognition of their time, leadership, and contribution. Diabetes Action Canada will also arrange and cover approved registration, travel, accommodation, and meal costs for required Fellowship events. These expenses are separate from the $3,500 Fellowship stipend.

The 2026–2027 Research-to-Action Fellowship runs from July 6, 2026 to May 8, 2027.

Application Deadline: Friday, June 19, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. ET.

You may save the form and return before the deadline. Every applicant should receive confirmation that their application was successfully submitted. All applicants will be contacted with the outcome of their application, whether or not they are selected for the Fellowship.
