Shay Erlich

Shay Erlich is a multiply disabled, queer, non-binary person, living with type 1 diabetes in T:karonto (Toronto). Their work sits at the intersection of art, disability justice, and research. Shay is an expert in wearing multiple hats in their life working as a dancer, director/producer, community organizer, curator, textile artist, writer, and disability consultant/educator. They often find themselves working on the edges of what is known or possible and creating a roadmap for others to follow. They spend much of their working time as the co-director of Pushmakers where they are currently working on developing a progressive skills curriculum for wheelchair dancers. Shay holds a MA in Child and Youth Care from Toronto Metropolitan University.
