Mallory Solomon

My name is Mallory Solomon, and my spirit name is Snow-Covered Forest. I am an Anisininew (Oji-Cree) person from Constance Lake First Nation who identifies as Two-Spirit and Indigiqueer. Living with Type 2 diabetes has shaped my understanding of the importance of culturally grounded, community-led approaches to wellness and has strengthened my commitment to improving health outcomes for Indigenous peoples. I am a Registered Early Childhood Educator with a Diploma in Binoojiingyag Kinoomaadwin – Early Childhood Education, a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Psychology, and graduate-level coursework toward a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology. My work focuses on supporting First Nation 2SLGBTQIA+ youth through advocacy, education, leadership, and culturally rooted wellness initiatives. I am joining this Fellowship to deepen my knowledge of diabetes prevention, care, and advocacy while learning from others with diverse lived and professional experiences. I hope to contribute an Indigenous, Two-Spirit perspective that promotes equity, cultural safety, and community-driven solutions for diabetes care.
